Steve Young: Honorary League Commissioner
We are thrilled to announce that NFL Legend, Steve Young, will be joining the Best Shot Foundation in our fight against pneumonia. A father himself, Steve signed on as Honorary League Commissioner of the Pnock Out Pneumonia Dodgeball Tournament, when he heard about the unbelievably high death toll pneumonia still carries.
“I was shocked to learn that pneumonia kills more kids around the world than any other disease, and terribly upset to learn that these children are dying when there are simple and inexpensive tools available now to keep them alive.
That’s why I signed up for Pnock Out Pneumonia – to help raise awareness about this hidden disease and to save young lives. Join me and help keep these kids alive.”

As a legendary quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, Steve is recognized as the highest rated quarterback in NFL history. He was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for Super Bowl XXIX and the NFL’s MVP in 1992 and 1994. He was honored with seven consecutive Pro Bowl appearances. Steve also set NFL history by being the only quarterback to have won four consecutive passing titles, the only quarterback to post four consecutive seasons with a quarterback rating of above 100, and the only quarterback to post six consecutive 300-yard plus passing games.
Steve is also a noted humanitarian. In addition to his work raising awareness about pneumonia for Best Shot Foundation, Steve is the founder of the Forever Young Foundation, which serves children facing significant physical, emotional, and financial challenges and serves as a National Advisor to ASCEND: A Humanitarian Alliance.
