Faith. Acts. United.
Each year, 8.8 million children die before their 5th birthdays.
Affordable care could keep many of these youngsters alive. For example, vaccines and other health interventions could save the lives of 1 million children lost to pneumonia annually.
The Best Shot Foundation established Faith. Acts. United. and the Faith Action Network to ensure that the U.S. does its fair share to protect these children. Rooted in the belief that every child is God’s child, Faith. Acts. United. works with faith communities to protect the poorest of the poor.
While a nonpartisan, nonreligious organization, the Best Shot Foundation welcomes the faith community as an extraordinary ally in helping save young lives. We invite you to put your faith more fully into action by joining the Faith Action Network. Membership in the Faith Action Network is free and open to all.
Members declare that not one of God’s children should die unnecessarily from a preventable or treatable disease. Faith Action Network members receive materials to educate others about global childhood pneumonia – its pervasiveness around the world and the simple and cost-effective solutions that can save more than one million precious lives every year. The materials include brochures, an educational and inspirational DVD, and other useful tools.
Faith Action Network members will be given opportunities to take simple and effective steps to help increase federal funding for global child survival initiatives.
The Faith. Acts. United. Unity Statement is an important vehicle for the movement to save young lives. It joins people of all faiths in declaring that no child should die needlessly by calling on support from our leaders.
